The current OpenAI models explained

Since GPT-5.6, OpenAI names its GPT models by tier instead of mini and nano. Luna is the smallest and cheapest tier. Sol is the more capable line that gains most in coding and computer use. Terra is the tier OpenAI highlights for visual reasoning, computer use, and writing. GPT-6 Astra has limited access because OpenAI rates it as critical for cybersecurity.
