Sora 2 was the faster Sora tier and generated 720p clips of up to 20 seconds with native audio.
Sora 2 Pro traded that iteration speed for higher quality and 1080p output. OpenAI discontinued both models with the Videos API on September 24, 2026; Sora 2 remains the discontinued 720p configuration.
Text-to-video and image-to-video remain separate. Their input tasks differ, so they do not receive a combined overall rank.
