Claude Use Cases for Work and Everyday Life
Find ideas for multi-step tasks with Claude, from organizing files and research to working with spreadsheets and documents. Each card links to its source. The linked reports and guides are source examples, not a test series conducted by Gradually AI. Claims in the cards come from the linked sources; they are not our measurements or predictions. The examples do not guarantee that Claude will complete every step without review. Availability, connected services, and permissions depend on your account and settings. New Cowork tasks on Pro and Max, and newly created schedules, run in the cloud; Cowork tasks started locally before October 6, 2026 and schedules already running locally stay local. Local files, apps, the built-in desktop browser, and computer use require Claude Desktop to be open. Claude in Chrome can read the currently open tab separately.

How to use these examples
Anthropic is gradually combining chat and Cowork in one Claude interface. Some accounts still show separate Chat and Cowork options. With the new interface, you describe the task in a conversation. Whether and when your account moves over depends on the rollout and your plan or organization settings. See Anthropic’s guide to the change.
New Cowork tasks on Pro and Max run in the cloud across surfaces. Cowork tasks you started on your computer before October 6, 2026 stay there. Scheduled tasks already running locally stay local too; newly created schedules run in the cloud. Local files, apps, the built-in desktop browser, and computer use require Claude Desktop to be open. Claude in Chrome can read the currently open tab separately. Feature availability varies by plan and interface. Anthropic’s current guide to web, desktop, and mobile explains the differences. Newly created schedules run in the cloud and can continue while your computer is off. Schedules already running locally stay local. Claude Desktop must stay open for local files, apps, the built-in desktop browser, and computer use. Claude in Chrome can read the currently open tab separately. Review file changes, messages, and publications before Claude acts on them.
These cards show task ideas and link to their sources. The linked reports and guides are source examples, not a test series conducted by Gradually AI. They do not guarantee that Claude will complete every step without review. Time or volume results are reported by the linked sources, not predictions. Check the original source, required integrations, access permissions, and every output. Legal, financial, and medical work needs qualified review.
