How we measure popularity and trends
Popularity score
0 to 100, with its own scale per area. Search (54%), usage (36%) and mentions (10%). Mentions enter as the mean of the last 30 days, search volume as a monthly value. Missing channels never count as 0.
Trend
“Rising” from +4 points against about four weeks earlier, “Rising fast” from +10. For models, more coverage, API usage or downloads in the last 7 days count too. “New” marks rising models that are at most 14 days old.
Limits
Popular does not mean good. For performance there is the overall model index and the comparison pages. Values tagged with a date come from an older month, because no daily channels exist for them.

Each area has its own score from 0 to 100. It combines search (54%), usage (36%, for example API tokens, downloads or installs) and mentions in news and newsletters (10%). When a channel is missing, only the others count. Scores compare within one area, not across areas.
Is the most popular AI model also the best?
Not necessarily. Popularity shows how many people search for, use and discuss a model. How well it solves tasks is measured by the overall index in the LLM comparison, built from independent benchmarks.
