Grok Imagine Image 2.0 combines xAI’s Quality Mode with close instruction following, planned typography and layouts, and preservation of inputs across generations and edits. Up to five input images, 1K as the default, and 2K as the higher resolution define its documented control over references and output.
The low, medium, and auto quality settings are not interchangeable. xAI says auto currently uses low for generation and medium for editing. xAI also documents Grok Imagine Image Quality as the predecessor that retires on November 2, 2026, after which requests are served by 2.0. The grok-imagine-image-2.0 ID is therefore the documented successor path.
