What belongs here, what does not, and where the data comes from.

One confirmed example is Cortana voice assistance in the standalone Windows app, which Microsoft retired in spring 2023. This archive also covers model retirements and acquisitions. An acquihire is a deal in which one organization brings another company’s team into its own. Check each record’s scope and status. A rebrand is not a shutdown, and the passing of an announced deadline does not prove the service actually ended. Each record links to its event source.

Google renamed Bard to Gemini on 8 February 2024. Microsoft rebranded Bing Chat as Microsoft Copilot in November 2023. Both records document a rebrand, not a confirmed shutdown of the offering.

Yes. Inflection still lists Pi as a product. On 19 March 2024, Microsoft announced that co-founders Mustafa Suleyman and Karén Simonyan, along with several team members, would join Microsoft. The archive records this team move as an acquihire. That move does not confirm that Pi has shut down.
