openbmb

Released

Data date

MiniCPM5-1B is the first compact checkpoint in OpenBMB’s MiniCPM5 family. It has 1.08 billion parameters and a 131,072-token context. The same checkpoint can switch between Think and No Think.

Tool calls use the documented XML format. OpenBMB describes an SGLang parser that converts it into OpenAI-compatible tool_calls. MiniCPM5-2B is a separate, larger family member, while MiniCPM5-1B is the one of the two that can switch between Think and No Think. The chat template and parser are therefore part of the 1B model’s technical interface.
