In August 2026, Google reported more than 1 billion monthly active users.
Search for Gemini's user count, though, and you'll also run into more than 2.5 billion. That figure covers AI Overviews in Google Search.
Here are the key Google Gemini statistics for 2026, covering users, market share, the API, pricing, and more.
First, the three numbers that matter most:
- Google reported more than 1 billion monthly active Gemini app users on August 11, 2026.
- Similarweb's latest estimate, for September 2026 (update of October 12), put Gemini's share of selected AI chatbot website traffic at 25.0%.
- Alphabet raised its 2026 capital expenditure guidance to $195 billion to $205 billion in July. It covers the whole company.
1. How many people use the Gemini app?
Google reported more than 400 million monthly active app users on May 20, 2025. The published milestones rose to more than 450 million on July 23, 2025, more than 650 million on October 29, 2025, and more than 750 million on February 4, 2026.
On May 19, 2026, Google reported more than 900 million; on July 22, 950 million; and on August 11, more than 1 billion.
Google said there were more than 100 million active iOS users but gave no activity window. In its August 11, 2026 post, Google also reported generating more than 150 million images per day. In Alphabet's July 22, 2026 earnings remarks, it said daily active app users had tripled year over year.
Compared with ChatGPT, Google reports monthly active users of the app, OpenAI weekly active users. The weekly figure is the stricter measure, so ChatGPT's lead would, if anything, be larger on the same measure. OpenAI reported more than 700 million weekly active ChatGPT users at the end of July 2025 and more than 1 billion on August 31, 2026.
2. Website visits are not user counts
Similarweb estimates visits to gemini.google.com and reports them as Monthly Visits. A visit is a session, not a person, and mobile app use is not automatically included.

4. Where is Gemini available, and which languages does it support?
Google lists the web app in more than 230 countries and territories. The Gemini mobile apps are available in more than 150 countries.
German and English appear in Google's list of supported web languages. The help pages give different totals, however. The English version says more than 70 languages, the French and Czech versions more than 40.
Google says the mobile app is for people aged 13 or older, or the applicable local age.
5. Gemini API and developer activity
In its Alphabet Q2 2026 CEO remarks in July, Google said more than 9 million developers worked each month with its models, APIs, and key developer products. Google said its model APIs processed about 22 billion tokens per minute, up from 16 billion the previous quarter.
In its Alphabet Q3 2026 CEO remarks on October 28, Google reported nearly 32 billion tokens per minute across its first-party model APIs. According to Google, that is 40% more than the previous quarter and more than four times the figure a year earlier. Google does not explain the metric further there.
Up to the first quarter of 2026, Google tied this measure to its own models via direct API use by customers; in the second quarter of 2026, to its model APIs overall. The chart shows the three figures with the earlier measure.

6. Gemini coding products in a developer survey
The Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2026 asked respondents which coding agents and assistants they had used in the past year. Among 12,255 respondents, 14.6% named Gemini Code Assist and 16.0% named Google Antigravity.

At Google I/O 2026 in May, Google reported more than 2.5 billion monthly active users for the Search feature AI Overviews. In its Alphabet Q2 2026 CEO remarks in July, the company reported more than 1 billion monthly active users for AI Mode in Google Search.
8. Gemini 3.8 Flash: context window and benchmarks
The Google Cloud guide lists Gemini 3.8 Flash as generally available. Released September 2, 2026. Multimodal Flash model with a 1,048,576-token context window, up to 65,536 output tokens, and three reasoning levels. Google does not publish its parameter count or architecture.
The Gemini API documentation lists a context window of 1,048,576 tokens. Google DeepMind's model card gives a March 2026 knowledge cutoff, while noting that the model's knowledge for some areas may only extend to January 2025.
Google's sources report different Terminal-Bench 2.1 results. The Cloud developer guide lists 90.8% versus 81.6%, while the model card lists 89.4% versus 85.8%. In the chart, “TB” stands for Terminal-Bench. “TB 2.1 (G)”, “SWE-Pro” (SWE-Bench Pro), and “HLE” come from the Cloud developer guide; “TB 2.1 (C)” and “HLE-Verified” come from the model card.
Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.7 Flash: benchmark results published by Google
The DeepMind methodology says Gemini scores are generally pass@1 unless stated otherwise. For Terminal-Bench 2.1, Gemini results were self-computed with Terminus 2 as the default agent harness. The Google DeepMind model card lists HLE-Verified across 1,811 checked items.
For the SWE-Bench Pro result in the Google Cloud developer guide, OpenAI estimates after a review that about 30% of the public tasks are flawed.
9. Alphabet's capital spending and financial figures
Alphabet plans more than twice as much capital spending for 2026 as in 2025. Group revenue was $402.8 billion in 2025, most of it from Search.

Alphabet raised its full-year 2026 capital expenditure guidance for the whole company to $195 billion to $205 billion in July. In Q3 2026, $51.4 billion went into property and equipment, according to Alphabet's quarterly report. The chart shows 2022 to 2025 as actuals and 2026 as a forecast.

Search still brings in most of the group's revenue. Google Cloud was the second-largest revenue line in 2025 at $58.7 billion, ahead of subscriptions, platforms and devices at $48.0 billion.

10. Google AI plans and prices
These were the prices on Google's US plan pages on October 7, 2026. Usage limits depend on the plan and feature.
Google AI Plus offers 2x and Google AI Pro 4x the Gemini usage limits of the free tier, which includes basic access with limits. Depending on the tier, Ultra offers 5x limits or up to 20x higher limits than Pro.

10.1 API prices per Gemini model
Using Gemini through the API is billed per token. The chart shows list prices per 1 million tokens in US dollars. For Gemini 3.1 Pro and 2.5 Pro, the base price applies to inputs up to 200,000 tokens and prices rise above that.
Gemini 4 Argon and Gemini 3.8 Flash are listed at introductory prices. Google doubles the price of Argon on December 1, 2026 and that of 3.8 Flash on January 1, 2027.

12. Gemini Enterprise adoption
In its Alphabet Q2 2026 CEO remarks in July 2026, Google said nearly 90% of Fortune 100 companies used Gemini Enterprise.
13. Gemini Nano on Android devices
Gemini Nano is designed for specific Android features that run on the device. In July 2026, Android Developers described how supported apps can process prompts locally, including when internet access is weak or unavailable.
On July 21, 2026, the Android Developers blog said Gemini Nano was running on more than 140 million devices. The same post calls Nano 4 the latest version, not necessarily the one on all devices.
14. Energy and water use for a text prompt
In its technical report on AI inference's environmental impact, published on August 21, 2025, Google estimated that a median text prompt in the Gemini apps used 0.24 Wh of electricity, 0.26 milliliters of water, and emitted 0.03 grams of CO₂e.
Google also reported that the energy use of this median text prompt had fallen by a factor of 33 and its carbon footprint by a factor of 44 over a 12-month comparison.
15. How reliable are Gemini's answers about the news?
The European Broadcasting Union and the BBC had 22 public service media organizations from 18 countries test the free versions of four assistants on news questions. Gemini scored worst. In three of four answers the reviewers found at least one significant issue, mostly in the sourcing.

16. Other documented milestones
- ICPC 2025: According to Google DeepMind, an advanced version of Gemini 2.5 Deep Think solved 10 of 12 problems at the 2025 ICPC World Finals. DeepMind described this as gold-medal-level performance. Compared with the university teams, the system would have placed second, without competing as a regular team.
- Nano Banana: At Google I/O 2026 in May, Sundar Pichai said users had generated more than 50 billion images with Google's Nano Banana models.
- Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber: In its September 2, 2026 post, Google reported 47.2% Pass@1 on the external CWE-Bench and more than 70% on an internal vulnerability benchmark spanning 20 programming languages. Cyber is available to selected defenders through Google's Fairwind program.
- Gemini 3.8 Live: In a September 15, 2026 post, Google introduced the Live and Live Extended Thinking models for real-time voice interaction. The Gemini API model page lists 131,072 input tokens and up to 65,536 output tokens.
- Gemini 4 Argon: Google announced the new frontier model in a September 30, 2026 post. On October 13, 2026, Google made it generally available to developers and enterprises through the API in a follow-up post, with the model ID gemini-4-argon. In the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search it is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. The introductory price is $2 per 1 million input tokens and $10 per 1 million output tokens, rising to $4 and $20 from December 1, 2026. Google is expanding the Fairwind Program by several hundred partners.
- Gemini 4 Carbon: In its Q3 2026 remarks, Google called Carbon the strongest frontier model in the Gemini 4 series. According to Google, it ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index with 59 points and is rolling out first to selected cyber defense teams.
